Chi siamo
ARPA is the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Abruzzo Region. The environmental prevention, protection and safeguard activities carried out by ARPA were established with the approval of Regional Law no. 64/98 and it is complex and specialized.
Cosa facciamo
In particular, the institutional competences of ARPA include:
- Tasks and functions relating to environmental controls and monitoring of physical, chemical, geological and biological factors, regarding waste, noise pollution, air quality, water and soil;
- Tasks and functions relating to environmental training and education;
- Study, research and control of the marine and coastal environment; the phytosanitary aspects of public green areas and Protected Natural Areas as well as agricultural products exposed to pollution;
- Scientific technical support activities, on behalf of the region and Local Authorities (Provinces and Municipalities), related to the approval of projects and the granting of environmental permits;
- Environmental certifications such as: EMAS, ISO 14001, V.A.S. (Strategic Environmental Assessment), V.I.A. (Environmental Impact Assessment);
- Functions related to the activities of laboratories responsible for the official control of water intended for human use;
- Based on art. 2 of the Regional Law 31/2020, ARPA is the implementing body of the “Abruzzo Region of Well-being” Program established with Regional Law 3/2020 art. 41.
Contributi
ARPA Abruzzo will participate to achieve all the objectives of the project, particularly:
- Specific objective 1, guideline drafting for a wellbeing certification;
- Specific objective 2, creation of a bio-bank of epigenetic, metabolic and genomic profiles of centenarians in the area;
- Specific objective 4, wellbeing education projects
