Chi siamo
The Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) is a public research body, with legal personality under public law and provided with technical, scientific, organizational, managerial, administrative and financial autonomy.
ISPRA is supervised by the Minister of Ecological Transition (Mite). The Minister relies on the Institute to perform his tasks, issuing general directives for the pursuit of institutional duties.
The Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, ISPRA, was established by the conversion law 133/2008, with amendments, of Decree-Law no 112 of 25 June 2008.
Cosa facciamo
The Institute carries out research and experimentation activities; cognitive, control, monitoring and assessment activities; strategic consultancy, technical and scientific support, as well as information, dissemination, education and training, including post-graduate training in environmental problems, with reference to the protection of water, the defense of the atmospheric environment, the soil, the subsoil, the marine and terrestrial biodiversity and their respective crops.
ISPRA coordinates the National System for Environmental Protection Agencies (SNPA – 21 environmental agencies of Italian regions and autonomous provinces), ensuring the exchange of information and expertise on environmental monitoring, control and inspections, connecting scientific communities with environmental administrators and policy makers at national and local levels.
Contributi
Mapping and systematization of data on public green spaces and urban blue spaces, and of national reference standards in line with Committee’s activities for the development of public green spaces, analysis and selection of ecosystem services, provision of data and information on aerobiology, contributions to environmental education and training activities.
