Scientific activity developed within the research studies on interactions between environment and human health, following its evolution and technological innovations. Basic and applied research activities carried out on ecosystem health considered as a paradigm of human health. Field and laboratory work, knowledge of the territory and of numerous ecosystems have given her awareness of the complexities of environmental systems and the strong interrelationships between these and human health. The research activity saw the ISS the reference center, where she brought the experience gained through during her previous collaborations within national and international networks. Thanks to the knowledge acquired, she contributed to the definition of national and European standards and guidelines with a scientific approach.
