Chi siamo

The General and Applied Hygiene section of the University Department of Life Sciences and Public Health of the Catholic University Sacro Cuore carries out trainings, research and assistance activities in the area of ​​ safeguarding and health promotion, particularly in the community.

Cosa facciamo

The activities are based on a wide range of expertise, from medical and biological sciences to managerial, social, legislative, organizational, programmatic, epidemiological, statistical, engineering (construction and urban) and ethical disciplines. The main areas of interest are research on Health Services and Systems, Genomics in Public Health, Epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases, Planetary Health and antimicrobial-resistance. The urgency to adopt an interdisciplinary approach is crucial, since Public Health cannot address issues globally except through a holistic vision. To achieve these objectives, the section makes use of a network of collaborations with academic and non-academic institutions, at a national and international level, next to activating university spin-offs and research centers, including the Italian Institute for Planetary Health.

Contributi

Responsible for specific objective 1, review of policies and regulations relating to the development and implementation of green and blue areas, use of ISTAT monitoring data on the condition of urban environment, production of roadmaps and stakeholder engagement.
